What is Brain Gym?

Brain gym is a series of 26 simple, gentle and enjoyable physical movements which enhance learning and performance in all areas.

They integrate the mind and body and can bring about dramatic improvements in:

  • Concentration
  • Memory
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Organising
  • Listening
  • Physical coordination
  • Speech
  • Self confidence.

These exercises were developed by educators Dr Paul Dennison and Gail Dennison in the 1970’s. They were originally seeking effective ways to help children and adults who had been identified as “learning disabled” They drew from a large body of research by developmental specialists who had been experimenting with using physical movement to enhance learning ability.
